What a week!

So...yes...it's taken me 2 weeks to find the time to update! Since school has started we've been CRAZY busy!!! The first week we went back when it was just teachers wasn't so tiring...last week however is a different story! Last week literally almost completely drained us both! By the time I got home and cooked supper and we ate we were ready to go to bed! I barely kept the laundry done! School kicked our butts last week!

Today has been much better. Don't get me wrong...I'm tired but nothing like last week. Supper was good tonight! I cooked my absolute all time favorite meal...kraut & weinies, purple hull peas, and macaroni and cheese. I also made a key-lime pie that I can't wait to dig into!

This year at school we are both teaching the same as before. I am having to pick up one 10th grade class 2nd & 3rd trimesters because the 10th grade is HUGE! I'm getting used to my new classroom and my new lunch time. I miss the POD SQUAD though!!!

Not a lot has went on with us for the last 2 weeks which is fine by me. I love low-key and no excitement or drama! We have a dull little life and it's great!!! We did enjoy lunch and supper with some of our best friends yesterday. Also, my little Linky came and spent the day with us yesterday. He introduced us to the movie, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". It was hilarious! He also brought his Wii game, Just Dance. HILARIOUS! He laughed so hard at me and Jamison trying to do that game. We had a great afternoon!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Last Day...

Well...it's here...the last day of our fabulous summer vacation. I have had a wonderful summer with my husband. We haven't done anything "special" but it's still be great! Both of our classrooms are ready to go and we've both already been to our schools several times in the last 2 weeks...I'm just ready to get it over with! The starting back that is. I am looking forward to a great year!

So...weekend recap...

Friday night we enjoyed staying home for supper and visiting with my momma. The salad turned out fabulously! Saturday we were lazy for most of the morning. We finally got ready and decided to go do a little Christmas shopping. I got 3 gifts so that's a good start for me. I have to start buying now or our funds won't allow us to get people the things we want. Also, it helps prevent having to run up a credit card bill. We then went and ate Mexican (my favorite) for supper and went to my "new" classroom and hung the curtains that I made. (The curtains I made with Wonder Under and my iron!) I am so incredibly thankful for my husband who has unselfishly worked so hard to help me with my room. I never could have did all that without him. He's great!

Yesterday, we went to church and then my momma cooked lunch for us. That was a first! If you know my mother you know that she NEVER cooks unless it's a must. The lunch was so delicious! We had minute steak, mashed potatoes, corn, fried okra, butter peas, rolls, and homemade lemon pie. Yum-O! Then I came home and got ready to go to a baby shower for a sweet, sweet friend. We are so thrilled for Joey, Melissa, and little baby Owen! I can't wait to hold him! She got some precious little things at the shower! While I did that Jamison went and ran some errands for me. Last night was church again and then we went to Cracker Barrell with some friends from church. We had a great time! We absolutely LOVE our church family and it's always good to spend time with them!

Sooooo...that's our weekend. I plan to spend today finishing up laundry, being lazy, playing with Ellie, and basically doing nothing!

To all the teachers out there...enjoy these last moments!!!

Clean Houses and other good things...

Let me just say...I am tired! You would think from the title that I was tired from cleaning my house. haha...nope...I'm tired from being in town most of the day! My house is super clean though because my wonderful housecleaner did an excellent job today! We have been going non-stop since we left at 8:00 this morning. We have been all over Florence running errands, eating, picking up my paycheck, eating, buying groceries, etc. It's all done though!

I got some super cute material today to make some curtains for my new classroom at school! The walls are painted yellow and since it's a pretty decent color and and a fairly new paint job I chose to keep the yellow. Soooo...finding material was a little challenging because I'm not a huge fan of yellow. I ended up getting black with white polka dots. I think/hope it will pop well with the yellow. I will try to take some pics of my new room and post soon. I really wish I had taken some before pics. Oh well.

Not much going on with the Hines' since the first post. I spent some time with a good friend/family member last night, Tammie Dial. We had a good time visiting with each other! Jamison did his usual Thursday night thing at the carsale so after Tammie brought me home I went and spent some time with my mother and my 2 babies at her house, Ruby and Lucille. I also got to see the sweet new kittens that were born at her house this week. (That's a whole other post in itself!)

I'm excited about tonight because we are staying home and eating in...that makes me feel old to say that! ha! I am such a home body though! It's my absolute favorite place to be. We are having Red, White, and Blue salads with grilled chicken and I'm tossing around the idea of making a peach cobbler. I'm really happy about finally securing the recipe for the Red, White, & Blue salad dressing. I've already made it and it's sooo good! Pretty close to Sweet Basil's version so I'm happy!

I also today got some really cute craft projects to work on for Christmas. I got these to practice on for craft night. I hope they turn out like I want them too!

That's all for now! Oh! Forgot one of my favorite parts of today....I got to eat at RICE BOX!!!! It did not disappoint!

Welcome!

Welcome to my Blog! So for a while now I've been thinking of starting a blog. I have to say I'm completely obsessed with reading blogs...it's just so interesting and you can learn lots of neat things like cool, easy craft projects, great recipes, etc. So here it is...my first blog!

Here's a little about myself and my husband. We are Jamie and Jamison (I know...way too cute, huh?). We have been married a little over a year and a half and we are absolutely and completely so happily married! We aren't happy if we are apart so we basically spend all of our time together! We have recently added a precious little kitten to our family, Ellie Marie. We love her and she loves us...most of the time...sometimes I do refer to her as "the demon" or "cat on crack". I love her though!

We are both school teachers. I teach 9th grade Math and Jamison teaches 8th grade Science. We are Christians. We attend church at Atlas Church of Christ. We LOVE our church! We like to travel, eat, spend with friends, eat, have fun, eat...you get the picture. I love to cook and Jamison loves to eat so we are a deadly combination!

So....that's a little about us! I hope to faithfully update my blog....we will see!
